The Rialto loading doors open into the side stage left black room area. The alley can be blocked for loading and unloading only. There is limited adjacent parking in the alley for passenger sized vehicles. The stage door to the left leads to the green room and the SL black room. There is no provision for shore power in the alley.
The stage is equipped with upstage and midstage travelers, two sets of legs and all necessary borders. All of the above are IFR black velour and are dead-hung. An IFR burgundy main drape is also dead-hung. There are (6) counterweighted lines: front valance, 1st electric, a midstage scenery line set, 2nd electric, and (2) upstage line sets to accommodate a drop and the cyclorama cloth. Maximum weight on these lines is 200 lbs. An additional hand/drill operated 2500lb. winch line, currently in use to fly a LED panel video wall and bottom border pipe, is upstage of the upstage traveler. The Rialto stage is treated with black stain and a matte protective clear coat. A Harlequin Marley Dance Floor is available in black for an additional fee. No drilling or lagging of the stage floor is permitted. Eight interlocking, skirted 4 x 4′ aluminum platforms of 12″-16″ adjustable height are available.
There is no disconnect service for single or three phase power. There is no company switch. Please be aware of this power limitation and plan accordingly. 160 amps of Edison-type wall outlets are available onstage, in addition to 200 amps of dimmer power. Sound and lighting systems are powered on discrete grounds.
There are Telex Audiocom intercom headsets available at all tech positions and in the dressing areas. Backstage areas and green room are serviced with stage video and program audio. Paging is available to the green room, backstage areas, and the under-stage dressing rooms from the Stage Manager’s position SL. In addition, there are 8 wireless Eartec UltraLite headsets which operate independently or together with the wired Telex system.
Control: Theatrical lighting at the Rialto is controlled from an ETC Ion XE20 Lighting Console with dual touchscreen monitors. The console connects to a Pathport QUATTRO 4-port Gateway for control of over 80 LED and moving light fixtures, spanning four universes of DMX. An ETC Sensor 96 Dimmer Rack and CEM3 provides control of 62 dimmer channels across 70 circuits. Four floor-pocket stage-pin outlets are available in each wing. A network switch at FOH is set up to allow guest console control of the lighting systems over sACN.
Batten Positions: There are two flown counterweighted electrics overhead with sidelight ladder extensions and one dead-hung upstage electric for cyc lighting, all trimmed at a nominal 17′ height. The FOH catwalk throw is 65′. There are no box boom or balcony rail positions.
The Rialto sound system is compatible with theatrical and musical programs where sustained sound pressure levels do not exceed 100dB, C-weighted. Please observe this limit. Rialto management and technical staff have final authority regarding mix level.
Console is a Yamaha CL5 digital mixer with Rio 3224-D stage box on redundant Dante networks.
Mains consists of (2) Alcons Audio LR7 8-box line arrays flown SR and SL and (3) Alcons BF362iMKII subs ground-stacked in the orchestra pit. Subs are aux fed. Front fill is provided by (2) Alcons SR9 speakers located under the stage lip. An Alcons 24W Cimemarray center fill is hung from the interior top of the proscenium. Power amps are Alcons Sentinel 3/10. System control and DSP is accomplished via Alcons Alcontrol software. All reinforcement components utilize digital audio signals via AES/EBU inputs and outputs. Digital 5.1 cinema surround sound is processed by a Dolby CP-950.
Monitors: Stage monitors consist of (7) RCF NX12SMA (4) dBTech VIO W10, (3) dBTech VIO W15, (2) EAW MK8196 sidefills and (1) QSC KW181 1000w powered drum sub. A Ramtech STGBX-54 split snake is also available. A Midas M32 is available as a monitor console. (MON console and engineer are available for an additional fee.)
Mobile System: A mobile system is comprised of (2) QSC K12 12″ 2-way active loudspeaker or (8) QSC KLA12 12″ 2-way Loudspeakers, (4) QSC KLA181 18″ 1000W Powered Subwoofers, and a Midas M32 digital console with a Midas DL32 digital snake.
Live Stream: The Rialto is equipped with 3 stationary Aida PTZ-NDI-X12 cameras, Skaarhoj PTZ Fly camera controller, and Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Production Studio 4K switcher with a Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel control surface. Basic IMAG can also be accomplished. Graphics and other overlay content is created and presented through Livestream Studio 6. The Rialto Theater uses Vimeo as our live streaming platform.
Presentation and IMAG: All presentation and image magnification is typically accomplished with a 16′ x 10′ LED panel video wall. This video wall is comprised of Blizzard IRiS R3 500 x 500 x 95mm tiles with 3.9mm pixel pitch, and is flown upstage of the upstage traveler. The LED wall is driven by a Novastar processor. Industry standard presentation software such as QLab and Resolume Avenue are used to control displayed media. The Rialto only provides projection for cinema events.
Cinema: A projection booth at the upper rear of the house is equipped with an NEC NC900C-A DCI-compliant digital cinema system. Throw is 75′ to the 12′ x 24′ motorized Da-lite cinema screen which lands just upstage of the grand drape.
